this exhibition is arranged in reverse chronological order, beginning with the year 2000, traveling throughout the periods of creation while Lilo Kinne lived in different cities:

present. future are accessible to us - we can connect ourselves with different
events in time - things which we have experienced in a former existence or
things which are going on in the lives of other individuals - we have access
to everything, therefore, our choice is essentially important - i focus my
attention on a subject and immediately perceive the specific energy, circumstances
and conditions surrounding this subject - i instantly live the momentum and
'it' flows through me
widening of our material
existence into other dimensions - all existing things are multidimensional
- there is no separation - one is in all - all is in one - absolute principles
exist - these principles are our existence - there is a flow between all -
energy or consciousness is reachable from all the different dimensions - energy
is flowing through man

i was black series (new york, april & may1992)
the
arrogance of the white people towards the black people can be so strong
- as a black person you
can almost not bear it any more to try to fit in with all your strength and
control your vitality day by day and still not being accepted - still being
treated like a less significant person in comparison to a white man only because
you are black - the day of the riot in los angeles - april 29-30, 1992 after
the judgement in the king trial brought on purpose to a completely white neighborhood
to avoid the prosecution of the white police officers. the more we understand
the harmony system, the more we know that we all depend on each other. the
rioting cannot be simply dismissed. there are social needs and urges wich
have to be faced. the question for reason and destination of human existence
has to be addressed (4-1992)

each
individual belongs to a specific racial group
and therefore lives actively in this momentary existence the specificities
of his or her race. the different races have their specific racial group karma
into which the individuals are born. we all have chosen to be born in one
specific family with one set of parents which makes it possible for us to
live and experience what we planned before we were born. we choose our parents
- we choose the moment of birth and its circumstances as well as the conditions
under which we do live

i was black - this enables me to profoundly feel like or as a black person
- the sadness, unhappiness, vitality, but also despair and heaviness, which
i do feel, indicate that my black existence must have been very difficult
to live through - the suppression was so strong that even the understandable
rage about this dependence has not been lived - nobody almost nobody understood
that to be black did not mean to be inferior (5-1992)

due to the volume of the oeuvre of Lilo Kinne, the retrospective allows only a limited amount of works of art to be presented to the public. the period from which works are shown and could be presented adequately in their context within series, encompasses therefore only a brief period.
within the past 25 years of the creative life of the artist, more than 1,000 works on paper and canvas alone have been created. the complete oeuvre includes many more works: canvases, works on paper, sculptures, photographs, photo & print editions, multimedia installations, handwritten texts, art audios / videos / cd's.
this retrospective focuses
primarily on the works on canvas, and few installations are shown. the retrospective
of Lilo Kinne's work is available on cd, which can be viewed on both PC /
MAC operating systems.
